WHERE WILL YOU SPEND ETERNITY?

Friend, I am sure you would agree with me in saying that one day you are going to die. We might not know when or how but death is certain. When death comes, where you spend the rest of eternity. Most people would like to think that when death comes they will go to Heaven. But what does the Bible say about that?

There are few that find the right path:

Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

Most people think that since they haven't done anything really bad they will get to go to Heaven.

Romans 3:12 "...there is none that doeth good, no, not one."

Then there are those who are trusting in things like church membership or good works to get them to Heaven.

Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast."

According to the Bible there is nothing WE can do to get to go to Heaven.

Jesus provided the way.

Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Yes, Jesus paid the price we could not pay! Jesus himself said in John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

John 3:16 " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:36 "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?

First, you must admit you are a sinner.

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God."

Yes, we are all sinners. I am a sinner, you are a sinner, all are sinners. Every man, woman, boy and girl since the day of Adam were sinners.

Romans 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned."

You and I deserve death.

Romans 6:23a "For the wages of sin is death..."

Hebrews 9:27 "As it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment."

Revelation 20:14 "And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire."

Secondly, realize that someone paid your sin debt for you.

Jesus paid your sin debt to God. It cost you nothing, but cost Jesus his life.

Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 6:23b "...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

A gift is not something that is earned. A gift is given without provision of payment on your part.

Romans 5:18 "Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life."

Thirdly, accept God's gift of salvation.

It is not enough to just know about Jesus.

James 2:19 "Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."

You MUST repent of your sin and accept Jesus as YOUR Saviour. Repentance is simply turning from your sin and turning to Christ.

Romans 10:9-10 "That if thou (your name) shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him (JESUS) from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Friend, if you are ready to stop trying to get to Heaven your way, and are willing to completely trust in Jesus Christ by faith, then you can be saved right now. Just bow your head and pray to God in your own words, admitting that you are a sinner that deserves hell, and are now putting your faith in Jesus and would like for Him to save you and change your life.
