In 1952, C.L. Cole organized Victory Baptist Church under the authority of Loving Avenue Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas. After meeting in his home for several months the church was relocated to 220 N. "F" street in Duncan. Bro. Cole remained pastor until health problems forced him to step down. After a short interim by Bro. Peterson the church called R.M. Tuck as its new pastor. Bro. Tuck assumed responsibilities in August 1989 and remains Pastor today. In October 1999 the church was relocated to its new location approximately 3 mile north of Duncan, Oklahoma on Highway 81 and just north of Gatlin Road.
We are an Independent, Fundamental, Bible believing Baptist church. We use the Authorized King James Bible exclusively and do not accept nor tolerate the modern perversions of God's word. We believe, as plainly taught in the Bible, that salvation is the free gift of God, available to "whosoever" accepts this gift in accordance to Scripture. Music should be uplifting and glorify God. Therefore, we do not use nor accept the so called Christian music commonly played and used in the more liberal churches. This includes Christian RAP, Christian rock, Contemporary Christian, Country music, etc.
Believers are not only empowered (Acts 1:8), but are commanded (Mark 16:15) to take the gospel to others. We encourage our members to be witnesses and soul winners, taking the gospel to others in the community. In addition to being witnesses during our daily activities, we have times set aside for church wide visitation. Members meet to go out into the community sharing the gospel door to door.
We like to consider ourselves to be a friendly, caring church family sensitive to the spiritual needs of those about us. Although friendly and caring we will not compromise God's word or standards. We have found that most people prefer the truth rather than being lied to or patronized. You will hear what God has for you when attending our services or during a visit.
